We are the World

Only Michael Jackson can pull off a stunt like this

Dirty Diana

Rock out Mike!

Gone Too Soon

This song is fitting for the moment

THRILLER

Youtube wouldn't let me embed the music video but I found this badass live performance. It saddens me that I will never be able to see anything like this. There are so many more clips I could post.. This is just a taste of Michael Jackson. What a pimp.

Will You Be There

My favorite Michael Jackson song as a kid

Billy Jean Live

Fucking Amazing!

Earth Song

Jackson 5- I want you back

Born to be a star

Man in the Mirror

One man commanding the stage

RIP Michael Jackson

It truly saddens me that my childhood hero passed away yesterday. I'm going to try to post some of my favorite Michael Jackson clips. Growing up Michael Jackson was the only music I listened to for a long time. Nobody will ever be able to do what he was able to do. Every music video that would come out would be an event and was always so memorable. Right now 7 of his albums are currently in the Itunes top 10 and he has 1-5. Truly incredible. RIP Michael you will truly be missed and remembered as an all time great.

Best of Bonnaroo- Saturday

This was my last day because sadly I had an 8 am class on Monday so I made sure to make the most of it.

Jimmy Buffet- Never did I think that I would ever actually go to a Jimmy Buffet concert. It was a good way to start off the day and it is what you would expect from a Buffet show. The cougars were out in full force at this one. Good times

Bon Iver- Good chill music to relax to. Was actually really impressed with this set.

Of Montreal- Words cannot explain this set. Check the vid above of "She's a Rejector". The show was sort of like a Cirque de Soleil show. Their was weird things going on in the background the whole show that sort of told a story. I have no idea what was going on in that story but it was definitely trippy and made for an amazing show.

Mars Volta- Crazy hard rock. What you would expect from Mars Volta.

Bruce Springsteen- The boss came and he conquered. I have never been a Springsteen fan but I will be damned if that wasn't one of the more entertaining shows of Roo. He played for about 3 hours and I recognized only about 3 songs. Still amazing and he made a believer out of me.

Nine Inch Nails- Last show in the United States ever and they made it epic. NIN always rocks hard and Trent Reznor knows how to command the stage. Definitely one of the top shows of Roo.

MGMT- Too crowded so left early. Wasn't that impressed so went and danced at the disco tent where the real party was.. Crazyness followed

Friday at Bonnaroo

Animal Collective- Meh... Not really my thing. Should have been a late night show and they should have had more energy on the stage.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Awesome awesome awesome... Karen O is the best front lady ever. She is just ridiculous on stage and the mix of their heavy old stuff and their new dance stuff made an awesome concert.

TV on the Radio- Great live band. Full energy and "Staring at the Sun" and "Wolf Like Me" could be two of the best live songs ever.

David Byrne- Truly incredible show. Hard to explain this show but the stage was filled with dancers and had sort of had a musical feel. Byrne is a legend and this show proved why.

Phish- Saw the first hour and a half only so I can get a spot for Crystal Castles... They jammed out like you would expect. Phish will always be a good show.

Crystal Castles- WOW... Crazy show I didn't know whether to dance or mosh.. Huge rave. Pure awesomeness

Best Of Bonnaroo Thursday

I have been going to Bonnaroo for the past 5 years and I have seen it transform from a primary jam festival to one of the biggest fests in the states. I would have to say that musically this was the best year for Bonnaroo. I came into it this year not expecting much but everything from the lineups and lack of serious conflicts made this a special experience. I literally did not see a bad show. Here are some thoughts of the shows that stood out on Thursday.

THURSDAY
Hockey- I had never heard of these guys before. Their set was before Chairlift so we decided to give them a shot. Cheesy dance music with an energetic singer = awesome show

Chairlift- Opening with Snoops "Sensual Seduction" set the tone for this awesome show. The singer was spot on and they got everyone in the mood for melodic dancing the whole way.

Passion Pit- This was the show of Thursday. The whole tent was dancing their asses off this whole set. The singer sounds just as good live as on the record. If you ever have a chance to see these guys live go.. It's a straight up party.

Delta Spirit- Most passionate band you'll see out there. Whole band had tremendous energy and were a blast to watch.

Fresh Band: Late of the Pier

Late Of The Pier - Heartbeat from Benoit Tersiguel on Vimeo.

I can't pimp these guys enough. I feel like everybody should check them out. Late of the Pier is in my opinion a better version of MGMT mixed with Killers. What makes these guys so cool is the fact that they cover so many styles of music on their album Fantasy Black Channel. There really isn't a bad track on this album. Some standout tracks are "Focker" "Broken" and "Bathroom Gurgle". These guys are so young and have an awesome future. They are already big in Europe so now they need to hit the big time in the US. I saw these guys twice at SXSW and both shows were amazing. The second show ended with the singer punching a bodyguard and being thrown down the stairs for playing over their time slot. The band finished up anyway in true rock and roll fashion. Check the video for "Heartbeat" above.

The Reeling- Passion Pit

Passion Pit - The Reeling from phantomcolor on Vimeo.

Passion Pit is an awesome dance rock band. Their new album Manners is filled with tracks like this. These guys are growing a lot in popularity and are poised to become a big time band.

5 Bonnaroo Bands You May Not Have Heard

These are 5 bands that are currently on the rise that I think will put on a good show.

White Rabbits- sound like Spoon with hints of Radiohead. Check out the song Percussion Drum.

Chairlift- Check out the song Bruises. It's the one they always used to play in the ipod commercial.

Passion Pit- This show will be a gauranteed party. These guys play awesome dance rock music. Check the song The Reeling.

Phoenix- French band that is really getting big. They play at a pretty good time slot during Phish. Check out their song 1901.

Crystal Castles- Electronic dancing music with a rock edge. The singer is crazy and she has actually gotten into fights with people up front at her shows. If anything the show will be entertaining.

MGMT Kids Official Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzVPsQl19h0&feature=related

This is a more controversial video. I feel like they are torturing this poor kid but it's slightly entertaining. I'm sure the kid forgot any of this ever happened.  Leave comments on what you feel about the video.
