Hope this blows your mind as much as it blew mine. It's always good to hear Robert Smith's voice. Awesome collaboration. It makes you wonder if The Cure should ever release an electronic album? Or any album for that matter.
I watched this video around when it first came out. I revisited it today and streamed the whole album today (give a listen here). And it re reminded how badass his mustache is. Also how great the music is. But this video, I like to think, gives good insight in how most male porn star auditions go. Maybe not with the badass drumming and singing but with the crotch shots and creepy guy talk.
Watch this epic hip hop opera by Kanye West. It's incredibly well done and directed by the man himself. The short film features music from Kanye's upcoming album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". The soundtrack is incredible and the visuals suit the music perfectly. This definitely puts Kanye closer to Michael Jackson territory.
*Edit: If you want to watch the video in full screen, just click on the video and and you can watch it in full screen on Vevo
I woke up hungover on Sunday and checked out what I drunkenly tweeted the night before. I don't know if anyone else goes to Twitter after they've had a few to drink, but I do... Anyway most of it was standard tweets, but one stood out.
"Note to self: It's my life by Bon Jovi for next TRL Friday"
Don't really remember why I posted that, but I did. I think the reasoning behind it was the fact that the bar (Like almost every bar) was playing "Living on a Prayer", which got me thinking about Bon Jovi. Honestly the first time I've ever heard Bon Jovi was on TRL for the song "It's my Life". I guess it's sort of cool that this song made them relevant again and made them popular for a whole new generation (I bought the CD). So I guess that's why I tweeted that. So I'm posting this TRL Friday in honor of my drunken self last Saturday..
Before Cudi's new album The Legend of Mr. Rager comes out on November 9th, you can find out Mr. Rager's history by downloading the mixtape The Past of Mr. Rager. Download by clicking on the link below.
Yes! This G.O.O.D Friday we get a CRS reunion! CRS is Kanye, Lupe, and Pharell. If you don't know much about them, check out the video below for their first song "Us Placers" featuring a Thom Yorke sample.I've been waiting for them put out another song for a while.
Alright so this video is a classic and basically sums up the late 90s music pop scene. It's got references to Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Sugar Ray, and Ricky Martin. Whatever happened to all them anyway? It's a shame you can't make videos like this anymore..
This is ridiculously badass. A full 45 minute Gorillaz concert for you guys to enjoy. It's cool to see how they pull off the live shows. Watch the full concert below.
Crystal Castles are such a weird band. I can't ever understand what she says but their music makes me want to get up and dance.. And then start breaking things. Anyone else? Enjoy this video.
Kanye delivered on G.O.O.D Friday after threatening to pull it this week. Thank God because this track is awesome. I should rename the blog freakoutkanyewestmusic.blogspot.com. And also I have a feeling that Pusha T is the next Kanye student that is going to have a breakout year.
Bloggers may have pissed Kanye West off this week. We took advantage of his G.O.O.D Friday releases and still posted "Lost in the World", a leaked track of his new album. While the song was a banger, the YouTubes were taken down and Kanye expressed his anger over the leak on Twitter. He threatened to hold back on G.O.O.D Friday and not bless us with a free track this week.... Bummer... He later said that G.O.O.D Friday might still be on today. We can only hope.. All of this made me reflect on when my obsession with Kanye first began. I remember being in high school and moving away from modern music. I was sucked into the trap of only listening to classic rock and jam bands to fit in with the other kids.. Kids weren't really that current in my school. It says a lot about me trying to fit in back in the day, yet still not truly being happy with myself... Wait was that the beginning of my downward spiral? Hmm..Anyway enough of my personal problems. I remember flipping through the channels and seeing on TRL some rapper talking about how he recorded a new song with his mouth wired shut after getting in a car accident. At that point I had been removed from the modern music scene and had no idea who that rapper was. I was intrigued by this guys ridiculous amount of cockiness and decided that I would watch the video. That was the first Kanye video that I saw and was immediately hooked. Kanye restored my faith in rap and let me become more accepting of modern music again. Watch this historic (Kanye's own words) video for "Through the Wire" and feel Kanye's pain (His words again).
