Curren$y freestyles over Gold Panda's "Heaps"
I know this is sort of old, but I've been watching it a lot lately and decided to share this with everybody. Gold Panda seems to be the perfect person to freestyle over with his beats. This leaves me wondering what other songs there are that need a freestyle over them.. Hmmmm
Eminem ft. B.O.B- Things Get Worse
Check out this new collaboration. I love when these guys work together. Oh and is it just me or does Eminem sound like old school Slim Shady Marshall Mathers?

Rihanna, Kanye and Drake Rocked the NBA All Star Halftime Show
I saw this performance and thought it was on point. Some of my colleagues think otherwise... I don't care what they think though so I decided to post this. Rihanna is a rock star and Kanye is my favorite artist. I think this video is badass. Hopefully you guys think the same.. Enjoy.

Young Minds - Ghosting from Look on Vimeo.
Another happy video for everyone out there. Why all the happy videos? Could I be happy??? Don't get ahead of yourselves... It's just a coincidence. It's probably to counter all the gloom that Radiohead brings in their brilliant new album. I don't know..

Of Monsters and Men- Little Talks
Ignore the monster part — these guys aren't nearly as scary as their name implies. In fact, the acoustic folky song is quite happy. Sounds like summer. There's no album yet from the Icelandic foursome, but we'll be sure to loop you in when we get word from Of Monsters and Men of a debut. Enjoy!
Katy Perry ft. Kanye West- E.T (Remix)
]
Yes this is real... It's actually sort of badass. Kanye rapping about having alien sex mixed with Katy Perry singing the hook makes his earlier collaboration with Justin Bieber seem normal. Anyway check this song out and see how Kanye makes Katy feel extraterrestrial.. I wonder if Russell is jealous?

Mumford and Sons, Avett Brothers, and Bob Dylan at the Grammys
My favorite performance of the Grammys last night. Mumford and Sons dominated "The Cave", Avett Brothers dominated "Head Full of Doubt" and then they all joined Bob Dylan as he grunted his way through what looked like a fun ho down that reminded me of living down south. Enjoy!

Sad Love Songs....
So as you all know today is Valentines Day. What you may not know is that it is also my birthday. You may think "Wow that's a cool birthday to have" You couldn't be more wrong. Nobody wants to celebrate your birthday because they are with their significant other and all that can do is remind you of the one that got away. So instead of posting my favorite sappy love songs such as "Something" by the Beatles, I've decided to focus more on the songs representing the lost loves, heartbreaks, and other things that I listen to while thinking about former girlfriends. So without further ado, I present my favorite sad love songs that will probably get me through the day... Happy Valentines Day everybody!

Second: How are these two guys producing this music?
Third: Seriously do I need to scale back my dancing?

Jon Glaser Creates his own Rock n Roll History at Book Release Party
Jon Glaser just released a book, and the release was celebrated with some high profile celebrities at a free event in the Brooklyn Bell House. When I heard that Jon writing a book about never before seen documents from famous Rock n Roll bands, I was immediately intrigued. Then I heard the title of the book was called "My Dead Dad was in ZZ Top"... Being a fan of his work on Delocated and Conan O'Brien I couldn't wait to see his take on all these rock bands. If the stories that were read during his release party were any indication, this book seems to be a must buy for music and comedy lovers. The event started with an introduction from Yo La Tengo's own Ira Kaplan stating how all of the documents in the book are true (they're not) followed by Jon Glaser taking the stage to explain how the origins of the book. The rest of the night consisted of friends of Glaser interpreting different stories from the book. The people that did the readings were John Hogman (Daily Show, I'm a PC guy) Scott Adsit (30 Rock) Zoe Lister Jones (Delocated) Jon Hamm and Paul Rudd.

Prince's Last show in NY turns into a Giant Party!
We usually don't cover big shows here at Freak Out Music. Usually we go for more up and coming acts. This Prince show was an exception. Today was one of those days for me where nothing seemed to go right. Everything just felt off. In the middle of the day I decided that I needed to turn my luck around and on impulse called my friend and decided to go to the last Prince show of his five show run. Man what a good decision that was! Totally killed my bad day and turned it into one that I'll remember for a while. Once the lights dimmed and Prince emerged from the bottom of the stage with a sparkling golden outfit, the crowd went flat out crazy. He opened his set with a rocking version of Laydown and then immediately got the crowd in MSG dancing by transitioning into 1999. What makes a Prince show great is the energy that he brings to his concerts. This was no exception. Whether you like his music or not, you can't deny the fact that Prince is a performer. Whether he is dancing on stage, ripping another guitar solo or sliding to his knees screaming, you can tell that he gives it his all and the audience in turn gave it their all dancing in the stands. For Prince's last show of a 5 run stint in NY, you knew he would have a couple of surprises. One of these happened early on when he brought Kim Kardashian on to the stage to dance with him.

I've been around and it's no fun, I've been a two-timer/tearaway God has told me so
